You may have seen the buzz on some news sites. If you haven’t, TED.Com is holding its annual conference in California. TED pulls in many of the leading minds in a huge variety of fields in a supercharged brainstorming atmosphere. They’ve had everyone from Al Gore and Bill Clinton to Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin. If the thought of great minds coming together to help solve world problems isn’t enough, the lectures are available for free on TED.Com.
This post however, focuses on a lecture by Jonathan Haidt, a psychologist who examines the “moral roots” of politics. I’m not going anything else except to say, it has some interesting implications for why we choose the politics that we do.
