Unfortunately the level of petty nationalism that is rife in numerous EU countries (not just ourselves) and the jealousies of many pro-EU governments means its an issue thats left on the back burner. This has a detrimental effect on the EU's collective bargaining power at forums such as the forthcoming G20 summit. Some might argue that numerous seats are better than one but when those who attend are arguing between themselves rather than creating a united front this undermines the European position.
